3. Removal Procedure

Step 1: Locate and Disconnect the Electrical Connector

  • Inspect the old valve's fittings for cracks, deformation, or residual O-rings/seals.
  • Compare the new valve against the old one to confirm matching part number, fitting orientation, and mounting tab configuration.

4. Installation Procedure

Step 5: Install the New Purge Valve

  • Align the new canister purge solenoid valve with the original mounting position and orientation.
  • Press it into the mounting bracket or retaining clip until it is securely seated.
  • Confirm the valve is firmly held and does not shift or rattle.

Step 6: Connect the Outlet-Side Line (Intake Manifold Side)

  • Flexible Hose: Slide the hose onto the valve's outlet fitting, pushing it all the way to the stop. Use pliers to reposition the spring clamp over the fitting groove and confirm it is locked in place.
  • Rigid Hard Line: Hold the line with both hands, align it with the valve fitting, and apply even pressure until it is fully seated. Confirm the line is secure with no play or movement.

Step 7: Connect the Intake-Side Hose (Canister Side)

  • Slide the hose from the charcoal canister onto the valve's inlet fitting, pushing it all the way on.
  • Use pliers to reposition the spring clamp and confirm it is locked into the fitting groove.
  • Wipe the fitting clean with a shop rag before installation to ensure a dust-free, secure seal.

Step 8: Reconnect the Electrical Connector

  • Align the electrical plug with the valve's socket and push it in until you hear an audible "click."
  • Confirm the release tab has returned to its locked position.
  • Give the connector a gentle tug to verify it is securely attached and will not come loose.


5. Post-Installation Verification
